Through the use of cutting-edge flash memory technology, the SH7080 series features high speed flash memory capable of constant single cycle (12.5 ns)access even when operating at 80MHz.
This represents a 1.6-fold improvement in CPU performance. The provision ofan on-chip power supply step-down circuit in this new series allows the use of a3.3 V or 5 V single power supply. This makes it possible to cut back on the useof peripheral ICs such as an external power supply circuit or level shifter, and so reduce system costs.
